Popular Yoruba comic actor Apankufor has opened up about his humble beginnings in the movie industry, revealing how veteran actor Ibrahim Chatta played a crucial role in his survival.
In a recent interview, Apankufor recalled his early struggles, explaining that his father wanted him to focus on education. However, he had little interest in academics and found it difficult to communicate his feelings to his father.
“My father wanted me to dress formally, wear shirts and trousers, and follow a different path. Many popular celebrities used to seek his help, and he always welcomed their requests,” he shared.
The actor further revealed that he had considered leaving the movie industry or switching to a bakery business if not for Ibrahim Chatta’s support. "He is like a father to me. When he said he wanted to retire, I told him I would continue from where he stopped," Apankufor stated.
