"When it expires, nobody will bear the pains with you” – Ayo Adesanya warns young women against BBL

Nollywood actress Ayo Adesanya has voiced her concern about young women engaging in risky practices to gain attention on social media. In a December 2024 interview, she cautioned against the dangers of seeking quick financial gains and falling for the often-deceptive portrayals of wealth and success online.

While she did not directly mention Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries, the topic has been widely discussed by other Nollywood actresses. Jumoke George has openly questioned the rationale behind undergoing BBL procedures, emphasizing the health risks involved and encouraging women to embrace their natural beauty.

Similarly, veteran actress Rita Edochie issued a stern warning to those who have undergone BBL, stating that their "days are numbered" and highlighting the consequences of altering one's body for superficial reasons.

Ayo Adesanya reinforced this message in a social media post, warning women about the long-term effects of body enhancement procedures and the fleeting nature of social media trends.

She wrote:

"Stop causing permanent damage to yourself just to trend. When your BBL expires, nobody will bear the pains with you."

She further emphasized that the current obsession with artificial beauty won't last forever:

"This BBL craze won’t last forever. Very soon, it will stop working. People are taking mundane things seriously now, so the artificial sells. But for how long?"

Reflecting on the past, she noted that true success in Nollywood was once based purely on talent, not physical appearances:

"Back then, we didn’t have BBL, we didn’t have filters—just raw talent. We are still here, the original actors. We are still shining, doing well—not because of ass or hips."

Encouraging young women to focus on their craft rather than body modifications, she added:

"Build your talent. Make your name with your gift. Not every movie needs a big backside. Not every role requires a body you forced on yourself."

Finally, she warned that social media trends are temporary, but the consequences of surgery are long-lasting:

"A few years from now, another trend will come. But the pain you carry, nobody will carry it with you. You will suffer it alone. BBL is not a ticket to success."

Her message has sparked conversations online, with many agreeing that self-acceptance and talent should take precedence over cosmetic procedures driven by social media influence.
