Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has appealed to friends, supporters, and well-wishers to turn her upcoming birthday greetings and gifts into donations for the completion of the National Library project.
Oluremi Tinubu, who will clock 65 on September 21, 2025, said in a video message that she has chosen to dedicate the day to God and to a cause close to her heart, instead of hosting a lavish celebration.
She explained:
“By the special grace of God, I will be turning 65 years old on the 21st September 2025, and this happens to be a Sunday. This is why I have decided to dedicate the day to God for all His blessings in my life and have a quiet birthday.”
The First Lady urged Nigerians who may wish to send cards, flowers, cakes, or newspaper greetings to instead contribute funds towards the completion of the library. She described the project as the “best birthday present” she could receive, noting that her love for education informed the decision.
The donations will be managed under the “Oluremi at 65 Education Fund”, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Education through a Zenith Bank account.
Meanwhile, her spokesperson, Bukola Kukoyi, cautioned the public against fraudulent accounts, stressing that only the official account should be used.
