Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has publicly criticized fellow musician Mavo, labeling him “untalented.”
In a video shared on his social media platforms, Portable accused Mavo, the Shakabulizzy star, of relying too much on auto-tune in his music. He also used a clip from Mavo’s recent live performance to suggest that the performance showed a lack of musical skill.
Portable claimed that the artists signed under his label are more talented than Mavo. He stated:
“Mavo uses auto-tune. I’ve been seeing some celebrities associating and collaborating with you. You now went to do a live band. Is that how to perform? Even my signees sing better than you. Your live performance is shambolic. That’s not how to use a live band. I blame the superstars who overlook real talents and support overhyped wack artists.”
The singer’s comments have sparked conversations online, drawing attention to his critique of Mavo’s live performance and his call for recognition of genuinely talented artists.
