“It Still Feels Unreal” – Kunle Afod Mourns Late Actress Aunty Ajara as Family Announces 8-Day Fidau Prayer

Nollywood actor Kunle Afod is still deeply affected by the death of his colleague, actress Aunty Ajara, whose real name is Lasisi Ajarat Morenikeji.

It was reported on Thursday, February 5, that the young actress passed away after a long and brave battle with illness. Following Islamic traditions, she was buried immediately. Videos from her burial later went viral online, showing her wrapped in white cloth, covered with a mat, and gently lowered into the grave.

One week after her burial, her family and loved ones have announced plans to hold an 8-day fidau prayer in her honour. According to the prayer flyer, the fidau will take place on Thursday, February 2, and the late actress was said to be just 27 years old at the time of her death.

Reacting to the loss, Kunle Afod described her death as shocking and hard to believe. He said her memory will never be forgotten and shared an emotional message while announcing the fidau prayer.

He wrote that it still feels unreal that Ajara is gone, but added that she will continue to live on in their hearts. He also stated that, with full submission to the will of Almighty Allah, the family is inviting friends and well-wishers to join them in prayers for her peaceful rest. Kunle prayed for Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanah Firdaus, while thanking everyone for their love, prayers, and support during the difficult time.

The news has continued to draw sympathy messages from fans, colleagues, and members of the Nollywood community, who have been mourning the young actress and celebrating her short but impactful life.
