Former Bayelsa State governor and senator, Seriake Dickson, has called for the removal of the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general elections, blaming the ruling party for Nigeria’s current challenges.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Dickson said the country has worsened under APC leadership. He recalled how the party was formed to remove the People's Democratic Party and former president Goodluck Jonathan, questioning the results Nigerians are seeing today.
According to him, the APC focused mainly on gaining power in 2015 without a clear plan for governance. He explained that the party’s promise of “change” has instead led to negative outcomes for the country.
Dickson accused the APC of failing in key areas such as security, the economy, anti-corruption efforts, and democratic governance. He stated that insecurity remains high, economic conditions have worsened, and corruption has not been properly addressed.
He also raised concerns about alleged financial mismanagement, claiming that large sums of public funds are being discussed in trillions without clear accountability.
The senator concluded that Nigerians must reflect on the situation and make a decision in 2027, as critics continue to argue that the country’s condition has declined since the APC came into power.
