Nigerian musician and choir member Kehinde Adegbodu has shared an emotional and heart-wrenching message following the death of his twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu.
In a raw outpouring of grief, Kehinde recounted the shock of losing Taiwo, reflecting on how just a week ago they were together late into the night. He wrote:
“By this time last week Saturday, you were still alive and very active. We were together till 11pm before you left suddenly.”
Eight days after his brother’s passing, Kehinde described the emptiness he feels, saying:
“It’s already 8 days without you, my best friend. Eight days you chose to stay alone in the morgue without telling me you were going. I will not see you anymore, I will not hear your powerful vocal voice again, but you suppose to know that I will miss you a lot.”
He also prayed for Taiwo in Heaven, asking him to continue leading as a choir master and watch over his family, band members, and loved ones:
“OLỌRUN MA TOBI O. Please Sir T, you must do everything to become the number one choir master in Heaven and you must be with me in spirit to take care of the kids, wife, and band members.”
Kehinde fondly recalled Taiwo’s guidance and wisdom, smiling through his tears:
“Now I understand the reason why you always tell me I can do it… now I know why sometimes you tell our manager we can attend two shows at a time. Ha, Sir T… O DAJU MI oooo.”
Ending his tribute with a heartfelt vow, he promised to honour his brother’s memory:
“But I promise never to disappoint you in every area and I am sure you will stay with me forever till we meet again up there. IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL!”
Fans and fellow musicians have expressed condolences and shared prayers for Kehinde as he navigates the deep loss of his twin brother and musical partner.
