“You are embarrassing your ancestry” – Producer Biodun Stephen slams young Nigerians for sexually explicit online content.

Nigerian movie producer and director Biodun Stephen has criticized young Nigerians who post sexually explicit content online under the pretense of “catching cruise” or having fun.

Biodun revealed that she recently watched a video where three young women were openly discussing sexual acts, asking who would “give the best blowjob,” who would get wet, who might have an abortion, or who would participate in a threesome. According to her, the women ended the video by saying “na cruise ooo,” suggesting they were just joking or trying to entertain their followers.

Reacting strongly, Biodun condemned the behaviour, arguing that such acts are not harmless fun. She said:

“Shut up! What is ‘na cruise’? You are doing it for clout, for views, for likes? You are embarrassing your ancestry and damaging your future because the internet never forgets. I have daughters, and I have sent them the videos and every day I remind them that for no reason should you embarrass me like this. Shame, we need you back because it has deserted us. On behalf of the people, we are sorry. Shame, we need you back! Humanity needs you because we seem not to have it anymore.”

Biodun’s remarks reflect her concern over the impact of social media on young people, warning that chasing attention online through sexual content can harm reputations and future opportunities.

Her statement has sparked conversations online about social media responsibility, morality, and the influence of viral trends among Nigerian youth.
