Moyo Lawal issues a disclaimer over reports of arresting a troll over her viral AI picture.

Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has dismissed claims that she ordered the arrest of a social media troll following a recent online controversy over her photos.

The issue began a few days ago when the actress reacted to criticism about her skin tone. She had been accused by some social media users of bleaching her skin. In response, Moyo shared AI-edited images of herself with a darker complexion, asking critics if they were now satisfied and would finally allow her to live in peace. She also pointed out that many of those criticizing her are guilty of the same actions.

Amid the online exchanges, a Twitter user identified as ScoobyDoe mocked the actress, using her photos as an example while advising the public. Shortly after, the user made a fresh claim, alleging that he had been arrested and detained at Area F Police Station in Ikeja over what he described as a harmless online banter with the actress. He further claimed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) invited him, after which he was locked up and spent over a week in custody until his lawyer secured his release.

Reacting to the allegation, Moyo Lawal strongly denied any involvement in the supposed arrest. She made it clear that she does not have the power to take away anyone’s fundamental human rights over something as trivial as an opinion on an AI-generated image.

The actress also stated that if she ever decided to take legal action against anyone, it would be obvious to the public who the person is. She expressed frustration over what she described as constant false stories being spread about her online and urged critics and trolls to leave her alone.

The development has sparked reactions online, with many fans supporting the actress and condemning the spread of unverified claims, while others continue to debate the issue of celebrity criticism and social media responsibility.
