Sowore Sparks Reactions as AAC Seeks Permission to Use Aso Rock for 2027 Campaign Launch

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has sparked laughter and reactions on social media after sharing a letter in which his party requested permission to use Aso Rock Presidential Villa for the launch of its presidential campaign council on November 11, 2026.

The letter, dated October 21, 2026, was addressed to the Presidency and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpẹmioghena.

In addition to requesting access to the Presidential Villa for the event, the AAC also asked the Presidency to provide food, drinks and other logistical support for participants expected to attend the launch.

The party explained that its request was guided by the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, fairness and equal treatment of political parties.

By invoking these principles, the AAC appeared to be making a case for equal access and treatment within Nigeria’s democratic system.

Sowore’s decision to share the letter publicly drew attention to the unusual nature of the request, prompting amusement and discussion among social media users.

As of the information contained in the letter, the Presidency had yet to respond to the request.

It remains unclear whether the AAC will receive approval to use the Presidential Villa or whether the Presidency will provide the requested refreshments and logistical support for the planned event.

The development has added a new talking point to political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
