Comedian and preacher Woli Arole has criticised prophets who claim they predicted the death of a person after the tragedy has occurred.
Reacting to social media posts by some prophets who reportedly claimed they had foreseen the death of gospel singer Toluwanisings, Woli Arole described the practice as inappropriate and insensitive.
The comedian questioned the purpose of making such declarations while the deceased’s family, friends and fans are still mourning their loss. According to him, turning someone’s death into an opportunity to prove that a prophecy came to pass is unnecessary.
Woli Arole suggested that such claims may be aimed at seeking validation and attracting attention rather than offering genuine comfort to those grieving.
He wrote:
“I think it is very appalling, annoying and highly STUP!D when we use prophecy to justify DE.ATH.”
He further expressed frustration that shortly after the young singer’s death, some individuals were already making videos claiming that they had predicted the tragedy.
According to him, the focus at such a painful moment should be on honouring the deceased and supporting the bereaved family, friends and fans rather than seeking recognition for a supposed prediction.
Woli Arole concluded his message by describing Toluwanisings as an “angel” and praying for the late gospel singer to rest peacefully.
His comments have added to the ongoing conversations surrounding the singer’s death and the reactions that have followed the tragedy.
