The toxicology test, crucial in determining the cause of death of the late music sensation Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been finalized after being conducted in the United States.
Lagos State counsel, Oluwaseun Akinde, confirmed to the coroner’s court in Ikorodu that while the autopsy on Mohbad's external body had been completed, the toxicology test, focusing on his internal body, was also concluded.
Mohbad's untimely death at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, stirred controversy on social media, prompting the Lagos State Police Command to establish a special investigation team to probe the circumstances surrounding his demise.
According to a report by PUNCH, an official from the Lagos State Government revealed that the test results had been forwarded to the state DNA and Forensic Centre and subsequently transferred to the police.
However, the interpretation of the toxicology report proved challenging for law enforcement officials, leading them to seek assistance from the pathologist who conducted the autopsy.
Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, Richard Somiari, testified during a coroner’s inquest, emphasizing the thoroughness of the investigation and the meticulous process involved in analyzing the toxicology results to ascertain the cause of Mohbad's death.
