"I Was Saved By Luck or God" Trump Breaks Silence After Assassination Attempt

Former US President Donald Trump recently recounted a harrowing assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally, where he narrowly escaped death. Speaking to conservative media, Trump expressed profound gratitude, attributing his survival to either luck or divine intervention. He recounted how a bullet grazed his ear, emphasizing that the slightest movement in the wrong direction could have been fatal. Reflecting on the incident, he stated, "I’m supposed to be dead, I’m not supposed to be here."

The attack resulted in the tragic death of a spectator and serious injuries to two others. The assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, also perished during the incident.

Trump described the surreal moment he realized he had been shot, recalling the overwhelming energy from the crowd and his determination to reassure them. He remarked, "The energy coming from the people there in that moment, they just stood there. It’s hard to describe what that felt like, but I knew the world was looking."

As Trump prepared to attend the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was expected to secure the party's presidential candidacy, he noted a significant shift in his speech's content. Originally planned to heavily critique President Joe Biden's policies, Trump now views the occasion as an opportunity to unite the nation in the wake of the traumatic attack. He commented, "Honestly, it’s going to be a whole different speech now. It is a chance to bring the country together."
