Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has expressed deep concern over the increasing cases of child kidnappings in Nigeria, questioning what she described as the growing silence and apparent inaction surrounding the crisis.
In a post shared on her Instagram Story, the actress revealed that she woke up feeling angry, heartbroken, and emotionally disturbed by reports of children being abducted across the country.
Mary questioned whether the kidnapped children had been forgotten and whether authorities and society had exhausted all efforts to bring them back safely. She wondered why such tragic incidents seem to fade from public attention while families continue to suffer.
The actress also expressed concern that many Nigerians may be becoming desensitized to the constant reports of kidnappings, bandit attacks, and insecurity. According to her, the frequency of such incidents appears to have reduced the level of public outrage they once generated.
In her emotional message, she questioned whether the country had reached a point where the disappearance of innocent children and toddlers was being treated as normal. She stressed that society should not continue with daily life as though nothing has happened when families are still searching for their loved ones.
Her comments have resonated with many social media users, sparking conversations about insecurity, child safety, and the need for stronger action to combat kidnapping and protect vulnerable citizens across the country.
