Nigerian football star Victor Boniface has shared details of the financial challenges he faced during the early stages of his football career in Europe, revealing that he earned just €3,000 per month while playing in Norway.
The Super Eagles striker said life was not always easy as he tried to establish himself abroad. According to Boniface, he often struggled to manage major expenses and had to make careful financial decisions during his time in Norway.
He recalled that every December, he would request two months of his salary in advance so he could afford a trip back to Nigeria and spend the holiday season with his family.
Boniface explained that his monthly earnings at the time were limited, making it difficult to cover travel costs without receiving part of his salary ahead of schedule.
The footballer’s story highlights the sacrifices and challenges he endured before achieving success on the international stage. From earning a modest salary in Norway, Boniface has gone on to become one of Nigeria’s most recognised football stars and a key player for the Super Eagles.
His revelation has also given fans a glimpse into the struggles many young African footballers face while pursuing their dreams in Europe, often working through financial difficulties before reaching the peak of their careers.
