Popular Yoruba gospel singer and evangelist Evang. G.A. Idowu Aworinde has reported
ly passed away at the age of 76.
Aworinde reportedly died on Monday, August 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy built around Yoruba gospel music and Christian evangelism. His songs and ministry reportedly touched the lives of generations of worshippers and earned him recognition within the Yoruba gospel music community.
The late gospel minister was visually impaired, but his physical challenge did not prevent him from pursuing his passion for music and spreading the Christian message through his ministry.
Aworinde was also a member of Victory Voices Spiritual Singers, a group with which he contributed to gospel music and worship.
He was particularly known for songs including “Mo Ki Obi Mi,” which remains among the works associated with his musical legacy.
His reported death has left members of the gospel music community and Christian worshippers mourning the loss of a minister who dedicated decades to gospel music and evangelism.
