Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has shared her thoughts on the pressure to associate with self-acclaimed “Lagos big girls” and maintain an extravagant lifestyle on social media.
Her comments come amid the ongoing feud between socialites Diiadem and Dabota, which has generated discussions about wealth, social status and the pressure to publicly display luxury.
In a social media post, Nkechi revealed that she has never been interested in identifying with the so-called “big girl” lifestyle. According to the actress, her priorities are much simpler: having her own space, enjoying good food and being able to travel.
She also questioned the assumption that people who do not constantly showcase their wealth and lifestyle online are financially struggling.
Nkechi stressed that living privately does not mean lacking financial capacity, noting that although she may not regularly flaunt her lifestyle online, she is confident in her ability to handle significant financial responsibilities whenever necessary.
Her remarks highlight the growing conversation around social media validation, financial privacy and the pressure to prove one’s success through luxury displays online.
