"MY LATE WIFE WAS EXPECTING SET OF TWINS" BOLANLE RAHEEM'S HUSBAND SAYS

Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem, a Lagos lawyer killed by an ASP on Christmas Day, was expecting twins, according to her husband, Gbenga.

Bolanle was shot in the chest by a cop on his way home from church service with her family in the Ajiwe, Ajah area of the state.

Bolanle, who had a five-year-old daughter, was discovered to have conceived again after years of trying.

Her husband revealed this during a visit to their Ajah residence by the Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Tuesday, December 27.

Mr. Raheem confirmed his wife was four months pregnant with twins, according to Ikeja NBA Secretary Issa Adedokun, who reported on their visit.

Adedokun stated that the NBA Ikeja delegation was led by Vice Chairman, Mrs. Amadigwe-Dike, who heads the Human Rights Committee, and that during the visit, Mr. Gbenga Raheem, husband of the deceased, described how his darling wife was shot by a police officer from Ajiwe police station in Ajah while returning from a family Christmas outing.

Adedokun said:

"The most saddening aspect of this story is that our late colleague was four months pregnant with twins,"

The committee also paid a fact-finding mission to the Ajiwe police station and confirmed that the police officer in question had been arrested and detained for further investigation.

"On the President of the Bar's directive, our capable Chairman also led a delegation of some NBA members to the Commissioner of Police.

"While meeting with the Commissioner of Police, he assured him that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and that any officer(s) found to be culpable in this heinous act would be prosecuted.

Adedokun further added that:

"We plead with our members to remain calm over this matter, be rest assured that the case will not be swept under the carpet, as our branch is already collaborating with other branches in Lagos State to ensure that our late colleague gets justice in this case.

"Be assured that we will keep you informed of any further developments in the matter as soon as possible."
