The family of 24-year-old Salome Eleojo Adaidu, brutally murdered in Abuja by gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, is calling for justice amidst grief and unanswered questions. Salome, a graduate of Kogi State University and soon-to-complete NYSC member, was found dismembered in the Orozo community, near Nasarawa State, on January 12, 2025.
Family Denies Romantic Links
Despite Ajayi’s claims of a romantic relationship, Salome’s family and close friends firmly denied any connection between them. “We’ve never heard of or seen this man,” said her elder sister, Patience Adaidu, who recounted that Salome had left home to visit a friend named Maxwell before her tragic death.
Horrific Details Uncovered
Salome’s body was discovered dismembered, with her head and limbs severed. The crime came to light when a motorbike rider, noticing blood dripping from Ajayi’s bag, raised the alarm. Witnesses alleged Ajayi attempted to bribe authorities with N100 million to cover up the crime.
Police Investigation Stalled
The family expressed frustration over the lack of updates from Orozo Police Station, where the case was initially reported. Patience revealed that despite visiting the suspect’s house with police, she has not been allowed to interact with him or receive concrete information about the investigation.
Community Outcry and Support
Close friend Abigail Simon and other supporters have joined the family in demanding justice. Social media users claiming to know Salome corroborated that there was no romantic involvement between her and the suspect.
The family, still mourning the loss of their father in 2024, faces deep emotional trauma as they seek answers and accountability for Salome’s brutal murder. They call on Nigerians and authorities to ensure the case is not silenced and justice prevails.
