Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has made it clear that her former “bad girl” lifestyle is now in the past. The actress recently responded to a fan who said he preferred her old ways, stressing that she has completely moved on from that phase of her life.
Tonto, who is now a strong advocate for Christianity, had shared a video of herself preaching about Jesus Christ. Reacting in the comment section, a fan wrote, “Tonto, I like you when you’re bad.” In response, the actress firmly shut down the comment, saying her former lifestyle no longer exists. According to her, “She died. RIP to my past.”
Since turning 40 in June last year, it has become clear that Tonto Dikeh has entered a calmer and more reflective stage of her life. The ex-wife of Olakunle Churchill has openly stated that at this point in her journey, nothing anyone says or does can change who she has become. She described herself as strong-willed and unapologetically radical for Jesus, adding that no one has the power to pull her away from God’s path.
Speaking about her 40th birthday, Tonto revealed that her mindset has changed greatly. She explained that she no longer makes shallow requests and is now very specific and intentional about what she wants out of life.
In September, the actress also spoke about what she described as her “new era.” According to her, healing has made her more private, growth has made her more selective, and peace has made her unbothered by unnecessary drama.
On another occasion, Tonto responded to a fan who asked about her love life. She made it clear that romance was not her focus at the time, stating that she was more interested in chasing money and power rather than love.
Late last year, the mother of one shared a deeply personal testimony about her healing from addiction. She revealed that she started smoking at the age of 13 due to her father’s influence and struggled with the habit for 27 years before finally breaking free. She also opened up about her battles with alcoholism and masturbation, describing how God helped her overcome them.
Following this testimony, Tonto reintroduced herself to the public, describing herself as a living testimony of God’s mercy. She said she is among those God spared, restored, and commissioned, explaining that God looked at her mess and still spoke destiny into her life.
Before sharing this testimony, the actress had reflected on her past, noting how she transformed from being a mess into a message. She expressed deep gratitude to God, saying that the place God brought her from is not where any human should remain.
Overall, Tonto Dikeh’s recent statements show a woman who is determined to leave her past behind and fully embrace a life of faith, healing, and purpose.
